Stained glass is often seen as a dying art - a handful of ancient craftsmen restoring church windows, but young artists have been injecting excitement and originality into the artform for many years now. Armed with modern techniques which complement the centuries old methods of cutting, leading and kiln-fired enamels and stains, nothing is now impossible.
One such artist is Iain Gutteridge. A graduate of Central Saint Martins postgraduate Architectural Glass course, Iain has a background in graphic design. He is inspired by nature and a wonder at creation; this combination helps him to create exciting designs with great attention to detail and craftsmanship.
Commissions are undertaken for commercial, ecclesiastic and domestic work, from simple front door panels right through to large architectural commissions.
As well as site-specific work, Iain produces hanging and free-standing panels and sculptures for exhibition and sale.
