This lightbox (1.6m x 0.6m) was commissioned by Redhill Baptist Church for their newly renovated building in Surrey.

During the briefing I was given 6 words which were to be includeded in a design: reviving; recreating; growing; responding; being and loving. From the bottom the piece bubbles with water, growing into leaves in the middle and flaming at the top, repesenting the journey suggested by the words. The piece is 3 layers of glass deep, with a frosty sandblasted design at the front subtly incorprating the wording (from designs by calligrapher Ruth Boddington), and coloured bubbly fused glass behind. Strong fluorescent lighting hidden within the oak frame brings the piece to life at all times of day.
